Fun Wednesday

1 Feb

Despite a diaper blow out and a little spit up, this was such a wonderful day. Days like this one make me forget the ones where I want to pull my hair out. Monkey woke up at 6:30 but thankfully fell back asleep in bed with me, already the day is off to a good start lol. After breakfast we made lemonade with those lemons I got yesterday. It was a lot of fun making and both Monkey and Bug got to help.

ImageMonkey juicing some lemons.

ImageBug “juicing” a lemon. He was more interested in trying to eat the lemons.

ImageMonkey got to pour in the lemon juice, sugar water, water, and put in the sliced lemons.

The boys really had a lot of fun making lemonade and so did mommy. It’s been a very long time since I’ve made lemonade from scratch…the last time was probably when I was a kid making it with my sister to have a lemonade stand on the corner of our block. This was a really good simple recipe that we just might have to make this summer and set up our own lemonade stand. You can find the recipe for the lemonade here  Perfect Lemonade Sorry, I don’t yet know how to make this look pretty, meaning just one word underlined in a different color instead of the whole address. Something for me to research tonight.

After taking pictures of my iPhone sleeve, I realized I wasn’t 100% happy with it. So I went back and topstitched the top so that it lay flatter and just all around looked “finished”. Here’s a picture without the topstitching, I lost the light after I finished it so you’ll just have to use your imagination.

And here’s a picture of what it looks like with the phone. It’s nice and snug. I have a few more variations I’m trying to whip up this week. I like this one but should have put the little key ring tab on the side. The next one will have a pocket on the back for storing head phones and maybe credit cards so that if you’re going on a quick trip you can just take this case instead of a whole purse. I know some times that’s all I want to take when I’m out with both boys alone, two free arms are needed at all times. The last time we all went to the market I was getting Monkey into a shopping cart (he decided he wanted a free ride) my purse slipped down my shoulder and pinched me on the soft underside of my elbow. Left a nice bruise as well. Let me know what you all think about the sleeve, I’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions.

I have some left over fleece from blankets I made us all for Christmas and thought it would be fun to free hand draw a monster that Monkey helped me draw, cut him out and sew up, and stuff a little softie. All the pieces are cut I just have to sew on his face before sewing him together. I think it’s going to give me a good laugh because he’s so disproportionate, but that’s part of his charm.

Time to stop typing, I just looked down and one of my kitties is laying on her back begging to have her tummy rubbed.
