Well, we finally cracked and got the kids haircuts. While I was in the garage working out daddy was inside buzzing Gav’s head. It’s easier than going to a barber with him because he just won’t sit still, he cried the whole time daddy was cutting his hair, hence the reason he gets a buzz. Caleb on the other hand took a trip to the Barber. We were going to go to Floyd’s in Hermosa but didn’t feel like driving all that way at 3pm and the hubby saw a barber shop while we were at a stop light so we went for it. At first I admit I judged this book by it’s cover, I was skeptical…But once we went in and Richard started cutting Caleb’s hair I knew we found where we would go from now on. He has a nephew that is Japanese-White so he understands how the Asian hair lies, good thing cause Caleb has hair like me. Caleb was so good and sat so still I was amazed! He even used the clippers on him and Caleb didn’t even flinch. It’s amazing what a haircut can do!

It is so rare to get both kids looking at the camera at the same time, they get distracted so easily. Afterwards we went over to Yogurtland to get some frozen yogurt as a treat. Yum yum.

And now an update on my granny squares quilt. So far I have 12 blocks completed with 2 more just needing to be pressed and sewn together.

I didn’t feel like spreading them out since the kids are still up running around the house like wild animals so this will have to do. I’m really hoping that I can finish putting the blocks together this week so that next week i can add in the sashing and complete the quilt top! I said before that I’m going to hand quilt this one and the other day I got these in the mail

The yellow isn’t for this quilt but I had to make my online order worth it so I threw that one in. I’m so excited to start the quilting process, I’ve been practicing on a scrap sandwich (not the eating variety) and am hoping that by the time it comes to quilting this I’ll have it mastered it a little more. I’ve also been plugging away at my hexies and my little box is getting fuller and fuller. I’m more than half way through but I think I may need to buy some more fabric to make these work. I also go back and forth on how I want to do the layout for these.

In other news the sickness bug has decided to visit us again! Hoping this will pass fast and that it won’t extend beyond the boys. So we’re having an early dinner and putting the boys down to bed early so they can maximize on sleep, which is probably what I should do too so I don’t get sick. Time for some swamp tea at work tomorrow!
