I’m the winner!!

1 Apr

Those seem to be the words I hear in this house a lot. Everything, and I mean everything is a race to Caleb, even if he doesn’t announce that it’s a race, he’s still the winner. And when he’s not the winner…look out, meltdown city. So we are trying to teach him to be a gracious winner and when he loses, to say good job instead of putting on the waterworks. I do hope he gets better first though, making him the winner to getting well. The hubby and I both started feeling a little yucky today and took turns getting some extra sleep to try an avert total disaster-a house full of sickness. So far, I think we may be holding it a bay. Airborne and green tea have been taken, and now mommy is enjoying a glass of red and feeling much better. I also managed to finish my granny square blocks tonight! Yippee!! That means that next week I can begin piecing the quilt top, hopefully buy the backing and batting and begin hand quilting! And I’ve been playing with the design to my hexagon quilt top which I will post pictures of tomorrow.

I am very much looking forward to next week. Monday for me means one more day of work and then vacation!! After Tuesday I will be on vacation for a whole week! Hooray! I’ll be doing lots of hand sewing, taking some pictures, and hanging with my three favorite boys plus the in-laws. Yes, it’s going to be a fantastic week!
